GeGe Roberts July 12, 2020

Born George Roberts in Yakima, WA on 9 November 1958. Challenged since birth with health issues (heart & kidney). Her mother died young, and she and her 5 brothers were raised by their Aunt Carol who became their mother. GeGe lived in the lower Yakima valley most of her life (leaving for college in Spokane for several years, and moving to West Richland after the family home in Prosser/Grandview was destroyed by fire.
She was a long time member of River of Life Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), joining in 1982 in the 2nd year of its existence. Through the church she made many friends, and provided leadership and service in the community. She lead a transgender support group for years, and in the last 10 years of her life proudly and consistently was herself, GeGe Roberts. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Carol, her oldest brother, Philip, and the love of her life, Gordon. She is survived by 4 brothers (Lee, David, Dana, and Michael), 3 nieces (Carol, Katina, and Haley), one nephew (Joseph), her beloved pets (Curley, Lulu, & Adora), and many friends.
GeGe had a heart of gold and touched many people that she encountered right from the first time you talked to her. She enjoyed life to the fullest and came as a great shock to many when she suddenly earned her wings.
